Katharina is working on the development and clinical validation of novel immunoassays for dementia with Lewy bodies in CSF and blood. She started her project in July last year, when she joined the Neurochemistry lab at the Amsterdam UMC (VUmc) in the group of Charlotte Teunissen. In Germany, she studied a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Biotechnology (with specialization in Applied Molecular and Cell Biology). During this time, she went abroad for 2 research internships, in Malaysia and Cuba.
