Felicia started her research at the University of Luxembourg. Her background is in pure mathematics and bioinformatics. One of her main tasks so far has been writing the Data Management Plan as a basis for data exchange within the consortium and a first round of biomarker selection for different dementias. Other parts of her Ph.D. project will be the development of a big data integration platform as well as a Dementia Disease Map to generate novel hypotheses of early stage pathobiology of dementias and enhance biomarker identification. This includes a representation of disease mechanisms at the level of molecular processes, building a collection of interconnected signaling, metabolic and gene regulatory pathways relevant to the specific dementia types.
